Beautiful November Wedding for Tammy and Jeff in my Wedding Garden!

Jeff called me last night--Thanksgiving evening--and asked if I could possibly perform a wedding ceremony this morning (November 29, 2013) for him and Tammy. Their plans to go to Charlotte tomorrow to get married were just not working out as planned and friends had traveled all the way from New York for their wedding. So they needed to work something out. I was very happy that I had the morning free and that the weather was going to be quite decent for an outdoor wedding in my garden. So we pulled it off and it was simply grand!

When Tammy and Jeff and their families and friends arrived, I learned that they had been high school sweethearts in their hometown of Dunkirk, NY. They went their separate ways afterwards, married and had children, but those marriages did not endure. Tammy found Jeff on Facebook and contacted him and they were delighted that they were both single again. They picked up where they left off so many years ago with led to this wonderful day. This is a resounding theme in many weddings I do and I adore being part of these "re-found" loves!
Since I had not met them or learned their story ahead of time, nor did I know they both had children, their ceremony was simple yet heartfelt. I did ad lib a children's blessing for their wonderful and thrilled children!
I stepped aside and rang the bell while they kissed and hugged.
Their sweet dog, Mojo, was there with her pink bow on to be a part of the wedding!
Tammy's best friend forever and her daughter came down from New York. They had originally met in London when their exes were working together and have daughters the same age so they are really considered family too. Their friendship continues although there have been many changes through the years. That's such a sweet story!
Tammy and Jeff, congratulations! Finally you are together! Your life journeys have prepared you for your paths to cross again and this time converge. I am so happy for you both and your children! I wish you all the best!

Fall Wedding for Virginia and Kevin in Kayelily's Wedding Garden!

Kevin and Virginia wanted a small intimate wedding ceremony surrounded by their family and closest friends prior to their reception on November 10, 2013 so they chose to be married in my wedding garden. With all the rain and dipping temperatures that had been abound in our area, they lucked out with a beautiful fall day.
Virginia is quite the detailer and had the timeline all mapped out. She arrived with her entourage of 4 bridesmaids and shortly thereafter, Kevin and his 4 groomsmen arrived.  Pink and black was the color scheme and coordinated with the black and white sneakers!  When family members arrived, we actually started earlier than planned. Our photographers, Kate and Mike Marchetto, were right there capturing this wedding for our couple in photographs while my husband Dave snapped the ones here for this blog.
One of the groomsmen played music on Kevin's iPhone as Virginia and her brother Jonathan entered.
Hugs before the "hand-off".......
Their parents got the front row seats.
View from my upper deck.
Virginia and Kevin had written love notes to each other, sent them to me then they heard them for the first time during the ceremony.
They made their vows to each other.
Exchanged rings......
The pronouncement of marriage1
Ringing the bell for the kiss!
Congratulations, you two! Your love for each other was radiating to everyone! I wish you all the best!

Rebecca and Andrew Came from England to be Wed in my Wedding Garden!

Rebecca's sister, Sue, called me in June to see if I could officiate the wedding of Rebecca and Andrew while they were visiting from England in August. We settled on the afternoon of August 24, 2013 and in my wedding garden. I wrote a proposed ceremony and emailed it to Rebecca for her and Andrew to review and edit to their satisfaction. The big day arrived and the wedding couple, Sue and her husband, Neil, and their daughter Reanne arrived. The weather was perfect that day.
From left to right: Reanne, her father Neil, bride Rebecca, groom Andrew, Sue sister of bride, wife of Neil and mother of Rianne.
We staged a short processional beginning with Reanne.
Then our Matron of Honor, Sue.
 Now our lovely bride!
Neil wielded the video camera to capture the entire ceremony on video.
Rebecca and Andrew, thank you for the honor of joining you in marriage! I wish you all the happiness and joy in the world!

Very Sweet Wedding of Jaime and Peter in my Wedding Garden!

Jaime called me in June to see if I could officiate hers and Peter's wedding on August 24, 2013 in my garden. They wanted to have a simple, intimate ceremony in which their son, Beckett, would be a significant part with just their mothers, Anita and Barbara, as guests. The date was available so we reserved the time and date and got busy on the ceremony. The day was gorgeous. It felt like a cool fall day that morning. When they arrived we began.
It was a simple ceremony in which their mothers' were honored and Beckett was recognized in a Children's Blessing. (Love that happy yellow of Jaime's dress!)
They said their personal vows to each other. Jaime had not written hers out and just "winged it" in her words. Peter had written out one of my favorite Rumi poems for a wedding:
"The minute I heard my first love story
I started looking for you, not knowing
how blind that was.
Lovers don't finally meet somewhere.
They're in each other all along."
Hmmm....wish I could remember now what I was saying here that was apparently funny!
 What a happy family!
Anita and Barbara joined them for a group shot.
Peter, Jaime and Beckett, congratulations! There is no doubt you all love each other and are now officially a family! It was my pleasure to do the honors!
